The Curriculum Innovation Service is part of Bradford Council’s IT Services and comprises of The Innovation Centre Bradford (TICB), the Bradford Learning Network (BLN) and the Curriculum Innovation team. We are a cost recovery organisation bringing together the experience and expertise of a number of educationalists, learning and teaching consultants, learning technologists and media professionals to consult on a wide range of educational projects and initiatives. The service is managed by Paul Scott.
The Bradford Learning Network is a not for profit provider of education focused internet provision for schools. The Innovation Centre and Curriculum Innovation team work very closely with the BLN ensuring that the broadband provision is used to maximum effect across the Bradford district to support raising attainment across all phases.
The Innovation Centre is a state of the art facility comprising two training rooms, a research and development area and cybercafé space. Services include digital loan boxes, printing, laser etching, blog design / hosting and video creation.
Staff at the centre are highly experienced with respect to mobile devices / learning and can support partners to identify, purchase, deploy, manage and utilise appropriate mobile devices securely across an organisation.
The centre also works with local schools developing school to school expertise and capacity by utilising school based practitioners to work alongside experienced Curriculum Innovation consultants in the role of Innovation Centre consultants. This develops their understanding, knowledge and skills of utilising 3rd millennium learning technologies and pedagogies as well as developing their presentation, collaboration and communication skills.
