The journey towards a digital school – is it all about the tech?

Rachel Orr and Martin Bailey

This session will explore how to make the most of technology even when budgets are tight. It’s about looking at ways in which we can simplify technology and embed it across the curriculum into the fabric of the classroom so that it’s an everyday part of the learning. It will show how teachers can make effective use of whatever their setting already has in place. The session will support leaders of computing in inspiring other staff members to be digitally confident as well as having the knowhow to drive and empower staff to get the best for the children. During the session colleagues will delve into the power of being a socially connected school for both staff, children, parents and governors. Staff fears of using social media will be stripped away by demonstrating how effective a one-stop shop can be for a digitally connected school.
