Early Years & Foundation Stage subscription

We are very conscious that there is limited CPD in the area of technology for EYFS. Over the last few years we have created specific provision for EYFS in the form of a half day conference giving EYFS practitioners an opportunity to gain hands on experience of a range of relevant technologies and how to use them effectively in their setting. We have worked with several EYFS staff to create a simple guide to making effective use of technology in EYFS that provided the foundation for the half day conference.

This course was very well received and attendees expressed an interest in a subscription to meet their specific needs If an EYFS setting is part of an existing Primary school then they can access resources and CPD through our standard or bespoke subscription provision. However other settings, such as pre-schools, playgroups and private nurseries, do not have this opportunity.

We are aware that many of these settings have very limited budgets and as such have heavily discounted our normal pricing to allow settings to access the support they need in a cost effective manner.

Please note that Email / Telephone Support is not for IT technical support but for allowing staff to ask for any assistance with regard to using technology effectively in EYFS (sometimes this involves some technical expertise).

The Using ICT effectively in early years foundation stage half day conference will not be a repeat of last year’s conference but will build on that session and look at other technology and pedagogies.

Partnership Subscriptions

Schools are increasingly working together to identify, develop and deliver CPD provision within their partnerships. A partnership subscription option allows a group of schools to custom build a collective package to meet the needs of the partnership; individual schools can still create their own subscriptions to supplement this if they wish.

We have worked successfully with several partnerships in and around the Bradford region in recent years. There are several ways a group of schools can benefit from our services including utilising our venue for training and events, helping advertise school based CPD, creating case studies including high quality video resources through to accessing any of our service provision to create a bespoke package to meet your needs.

We have a range of courses delivered at the centre but it can be far more cost effective for a group of schools to have a bespoke course created for their partnership. Instead of a per head cost the partnership only pays the consultant daily rate cost to plan, develop and deliver the provision and this can provide substantial savings to schools. We can provide a consistent CPD experience across a group of schools through full day, half day and after school sessions created to meet the needs of the partnership and the local school.

Many of the partnerships we have worked with in recent years have targeted subject leaders in the schools to be trained as experts in a specified area. This has enabled these specialists to become Leading Teachers who can provide future school to school support in a sustainable and cost effective manner.

Venue hire

Several partnerships book hotels/conference facilities or use their own school spaces for meetings, training and teaching. The Innovation Centre is a modern, purpose built training venue in the centre of Bradford. It is easily accessible by road, bus and train. There is ample local parking at a cost of £4. There are 2 training spaces equipped with large interactive screens, sound systems and excellent Wi-Fi. The rooms can be arranged for 32 people at tables in a variety of configurations or a maximum of 50 in theatre style. We also have a meet and greet CyberCafe space with a range of fresh coffee and refreshments. We can provide excellent buffet lunches or other dining options at a range of local restaurants if you prefer to eat off site.

Advertising and managing your CPD

Our website has an events section where partnerships can advertise their CPD provision and allow attendees to make online bookings. We can also provide administration support to manage course bookings, disseminate pre/post course materials, capture your CPD day through video or high quality photographs that could be used in a blog post or case study and provide online feedback solutions.

Loan equipment

Many schools already utilise our loan boxes of ICT equipment for use in their schools. If your CPD requires ICT resources we can provide a range of equipment and AV support to meet your needs. Please note that if you are using our venue then any general use of our ICT equipment and technical support is including in the room hire price.

Bespoke course delivery

We have a range of courses delivered at the centre, but it can be far more cost effective for a group of schools to have a bespoke course created for their partnership. Instead of a per head cost the partnership only pays the consultant daily rate cost to plan, develop and deliver the provision and this can provide substantial savings to schools.

In school CPD

We can provide a consistent CPD experience across a group of schools through full day, half day and after school sessions created to meet the needs of the partnership and the local school.

Developing sustainable expertise

Many of the partnerships we have worked with in recent years have targeted subject leaders in the schools to be trained as experts in a specified area. This has enabled these specialists to become Leading Teachers who can provide future school to school support in a sustainable and cost effective manner.

(e)Safeguarding Subscriptions

All consultants in the Curriculum Innovation service are qualified South West Grid for Learning (SWGfL) 360°safe E-safety Mark assessors.

The 360°safe E-safety self-review audit tool from SWGfL is a comprehensive free audit tool to assess how effective your school’s (e)Safeguarding provision is and we recommend all schools use this tool to assess their present provision and use the assessment information to inform their whole school (e)Safeguarding provision plan. You can access the tool here.

The Curriculum Innovation Service have worked with BPIP over recent years through the Bradford Learning Network to help provide safe and secure access to online resources in schools. This has included deploying hardware to schools such as the Smoothwall UTM systems and supporting BPIP with their role out of the e-safe education forensic monitoring software. Our service has worked with over a hundred schools in recent years helping them establish appropriate policy & practice and develop curriculum provision with staff, pupils and parents. Although schools can provide very secure school environments to access online content we are aware that many schools still have significant gaps in their provision, particularly in the area of data security.

To enable schools to ensure their provision is of the standard expected by Ofsted we have developed an (e)Safeguarding specific subscription that will enable any school to achieve the SWGfL E-safety Mark standard within a maximum of 2 years.

Below is the detail of the provision.

Bespoke Subscriptions 2018- 2019

The bespoke subscription is designed to allow schools to strategically plan and create a 'custom built' package of provision to meet their CPD needs for the next academic year from the Curriculum Innovation service.

BespokeOptions18a

This is a summary of all subscription provision and the associated costs which can be used to design a bespoke subscription package. With this you can choose the number of meetings, courses and consultancy days you need. If you require access to our interactive scheme of work in Curriculum Online then you need to choose the Premium Services option.

The online form for Bespoke Subscriptions can be used to model your needs and subscription costs simply by filling in the appropriate quantities.  The bottom of the form shows you the running total for your package plus the early bird discount of 10% for all packages taken out by 30 September 2018.

We recommend that you first talk to one of our Innovation Consultants before completing the form to ensure the needs of your school are fully met by the subscription package.

The bespoke subscription allows you to create a package that includes a wider selection of the team’s provision than contained in the standard subscriptions, allowing you to make further savings to your budget. Please note staff meetings and twilights are limited to 25 membersof staff from your school in order for one Consultant to effectively deliver the session - if you have more staff members please contact a member of the team to discuss your options.

Once you have completed your bespoke package, press the submit button. When you have submitted your form you will be returned to the subscription menu and recieve a copy of your form by email.  This will be confirmed by a member of the team via email and letter during the autumn term and you will be contacted by a Curriculum Innovation Consultant to book in any consultancy provision, staff meetings or Digital Learning sessions requested.  You will receive an invoice from Bradford Council for your subscription package during the autumn term.
